The Yoga of Detox: Six Weeks of Self-Care

Discover how healthy living is about abundance, not deprivation. Join Jayaprabha Mare DiBenigno and Amy LaBossiere at the Vital Life Center on March 17 for the first of a six-week series that will meet from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. each Sunday.

DiBenigno, yoga and meditation practitioner for 17 years and owner of the Vital Life Center, will present a detox yoga class suitable for all levels. “The class can assist the body in cleansing itself,” says DiBenigno. “A few of the benefits of this practice over time include more energy, mental clarity, better sleep, better digestion, clearer skin, fewer aches and pains and less illness.”

Each week, following yoga practice, participants will sample a recipe and discuss the coming week's strategies for detoxification.

Amy LaBossiere, an Institute of Integrative Nutrition Health Coach with a masters in Conscious Evolution, will present strategies and tips for a Spring Detoxification Diet. LaBossiere says the diet will “release excess weight, increase clarity and vibrancy as well as promote healing.” She will be offering 20-minute phone consultations with each student. The class will include how to make smoothies, juices, soups, salads and desserts that are nutrient dense and delicious.

Vital Life Center, 100 West Main St, Plainville. The cost of the series is $225, including food and materials. Pre-registration required by March 15. For more information and to register call  860-479-0466.
