Therapeutic Yoga is a combination of restorative yoga, gentle yoga, hands-on energy work, breath work and meditation that creates an environment supporting the mind, body and spirit. By connecting the mind, body and breath, Therapeutic Yoga allows you to get the benefits of stretching and lengthening while helping to open up blocked energy in the body.  

A therapeutic practice is for anyone looking for a way to relax, restore and reconnect. For those who are suffering through illness, injury, pain, depression, anxiety, trauma or other physical limitations, it can assist with healing. Numerous studies have been done on the effects of stress and the role that stress may have in imbalances of the body such as fatigue, weight gain and depression. Therapeutic yoga is believed to work by calming the nervous system and giving participants the space to be completely at peace, which promotes healing of the body’s imbalances.

In a Therapeutic Yoga session, participants use bolsters, blankets and other supportive props that help support and cradle the body through various poses that involve long holds, breathing and stillness.
