Women’s Wellness Group Starts in Collinsville

Yoga Center of Collinsville is announcing a new Women’s Coaching Group for Mindfulness, Self-Care and Stress Reduction. The group will meet for four sessions on Tuesdays from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. starting July 16 at the Yoga Center of Collinsville.

The benefits of this program will be unique to each participant. Some women reduce stress, feel more in charge and sleep better. Others are more able to practice self-care in the moment and feel more energized. Each participant will learn a step-by-step process for making changes that are important to her, such as losing weight, getting organized, sleeping better, improving communication or being more active. In class and at home reflective activities will help attendees make self-discoveries along with learning to practice mindfulness meditation techniques including sitting, walking, lying down and gentle movement. Practical strategies for how to bring this into everyday living will be provided through a supportive learning environment with others who care about living a healthier and more inspired life.

Each session is led by former celebrity fitness trainer Cheryl Jones, known best for her book and CD, Mindful Exercise, and one of the most credentialed wellness coaches in the nation. Jones holds a masters in exercise science from the University of Connecticut and a certificate in spirituality from St. Joseph College.
