July Celebration to Turn Up the Heat in Collinsville

Put on by the Collinsville Merchants Association, the “Collinsville HOT” celebration will be a full day of activities, entertainment, food, crafts and a special “water fire” display to inaugurate the new Collinsville Streetscape and Flower Bridge.

The family-friendly event will be Saturday, July 25, and will include an outdoor yoga class, an art and craft fair, a farm-to-table dining event, entertainment and the evening water fire display. Rain date is July 26.

“Collinsville HOT will draw attention to the range of experiences that make Collinsville a destination,” said Shawn Cole, president of Yoga Center of Collinsville and one of the event organizers. “The natural beauty of the river, the historic mill, the Farmington River Rail Trail, the restaurants, the entertainment and art—summer is a great time to enjoy this special place.”

Collinsville is already a popular destination for eco-tourism, biking, fishing and kayaking. Historic attractions, which have been preserved as they were in 1900, bring visitors to Collinsville. The area also offers restaurants, music venues and a theater company.

“We invite the public to enjoy our sizzling village and river celebration,” said Francesca Nadeau, another event organizer and owner of Francesca’s Wine Bar and Bistro. “There’s nothing like it anywhere else. Collinsville HOT is the place to be.”
